My grandmother gave me her mother's iron bed as a housewarming gift.
I know my grandmother was born in 1933 and her mother owned the bed well before she was born.
However, we are unsure of exactly how old this bed is, with the dates we do know, I think this bed may be pre WWI, which would make it handcrafted, but I don't know for sure.
